Mystery 1914 Vineyard
Nestled on the southern edge of the Atlas Peak AVA, the vineyard spans a picturesque five-acre parcel named after a mysterious stone block discovered on the property. Positioned at an elevation of 1,200 feet, our vines are gently embraced by morning fog and breezes from San Pablo Bay, which extend the maturation process for optimal flavor development. A seasonal stream meanders through the vineyard, naturally dividing the Sauvignon Blanc to the east from the Cabernet Sauvignon to the west. The diverse soil compositions, rootstocks, clones, and varying aspects and slopes present unique opportunities for each vine, contributing to the distinctive character of our wines.

Block 1
Our Sauvignon Blanc flourishes on a flat 0.8-acre parcel characterized by its shallow, rocky soil, ideal for the development of vibrant flavors. The rows are aligned north to south, ensuring optimal sun exposure for the 1103P rootstock and Clone 1. This meticulous setup enhances the vine's ability to absorb sunlight effectively, promoting healthy growth and exceptional grape quality.

Blocks 2/3
These flat, 1.4-acre parcels dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon are a testament to precision and care, featuring Clone 169 on 110R rootstock. Like Block 1, this area boasts shallow, rocky soils that contribute to the robust character of our grapes. We employ a north-south row orientation and utilize a modified Vertical Shoot Positioning (VSP) trellising system. This maximizes sun exposure and ensures that each vine thrives under ideal conditions.

Blocks 4/5
This 1.4-acre hillside vineyard is dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, featuring the See clone on 110R rootstock. The steep slopes of this area contain the deepest soil on our property, providing a rich foundation for robust vine growth. With an eastern aspect, these vines receive several hours less sunlight each day, resulting in a longer maturation period that enhances the complexity and depth of our Cabernet Sauvignon.
