Lazarus Vineyard

In October 2025, Vindicta Estate completed the acquisition of a historic six‑acre Zinfandel vineyard, marking an important expansion of the estate’s estate‑grown holdings. The dry-farmed vines on this property are believed to be more than fifty years old, placing them among the older Zinfandel plantings in the region.

Historically, this vineyard produced fruit that contributed to award-winning wines, and it was once regarded as a benchmark site for characterful, old-vine Zinfandel. Over the past decade, however, the property has been largely neglected. Without irrigation, fertilization, pruning, or harvesting, the vines have been left to persist on their own, continuing to produce fruit that has gone mostly to the local deer and bears rather than into a wineglass.

Vindicta Estate has acquired the vineyard with the intention of restoring it to health and prominence. Rather than removing the existing plants, the estate is committed to re-invigorating these old vines, respecting their deep root systems and genetic heritage. Through low-intervention farming, Vindicta Estate aims to bring this once-celebrated site into full production and to honor its legacy by crafting distinctive, vineyard-designate Zinfandel in the years ahead.
